High quality heatbreak or barrel of the “all metal” type in which the inlet teflon only reaches the top of the barrel, the rest of the journey is through the metal interior of the barrel, it prevents the inlet teflon from touching the nozzle and is therefore suitable for high temperatures at which teflon can degrade. This type of barrel may require a few degrees higher temperature and is usually more prone to jamming than a Bore type heatbreak

.

The combination of copper and steel improves heat evacuation over a steel or even titanium heatbreak, which means greater temperature differences between the block and the heatsink, which is the main purpose of this piece.
