We present to you our new Crystal Epoxy Resin 100% solid, designed to obtain high resin thicknesses from a single pour. It is an epoxy resin with high self-leveling power and a extraordinary resistance to UV radiation, higher than that of other standard epoxy resins. In addition, it has a high lifespan of the mixture (also called “pot life”), so that you can work the mixture for hours.
Many uses, but one especially: epoxy resin for wood
- High-thickness resin castings ( 10 cm)
- Development of transparent tables with inlays of wood and decorative elements
- Inlays in Tables
- Filling gaps in various substrates (wood, concrete) and porous surfaces
)
- Work on glazed surfaces ( tiles, glass, glass fibers), after applying our primer activator for glazed surfaces
- Microlandscaping creations, miniatures, dioramas, etc.
- Works of
carpentry
How should our high-thickness epoxy resin be applied?
- It is catalyzed at room temperature by the addition of hardener in a proportion of 100/34 (100 g resin + 34 g hardener). Mix both components gently for at least 5 minutes.
- The catalyst must be added to the resin, never to the The other way around, until it is completely homogenized (this occurs when the mixing “threads” completely disappear). Mixing must be done smoothly to avoid incorporating air bubbles, since due to the high thickness of the applications, they cannot be easily removed afterwards
.
- Once properly mixed in the first container, transfer to another container without hurting the edges of the
original container.
- Mix gently in the second container for 3 minutes and proceed to pour the catalyzed resin onto the surface or mold
.
- For surfaces, help spread the resin with a trowel or notched trowel. It is recommended to deaerate the surface with a barbed roller to eliminate possible surface air bubbles
.
- Thanks to its low exotherm and viscosity, you can spill up to 10 cm of resin in one go. When casting into molds, it is recommended to unmold or unmold 72 hours after application
.
- To prevent the deposition of dust or particles and impair the surface appearance, it is recommended to cover the applied surface. To obtain full cure, it is recommended not to use the part until 7 days after its application.
NOTE: In conditions of At low temperatures or when the product has a certain turbidity, it is recommended to heat gently (40 - 50º) before adding component B, to recover a completely transparent appearance
NOTE 2: Please keep in mind that the catalyzation of the resin is a chemical reaction that gives off heat
Can we help you choose your resin?
It may seem that our resins share most of the characteristics, but the truth is that each one is designed for a different purpose, with a series of different characteristics and nuances in their formulation that make them exclusive for one use or another
.
Since we know that, at first glance, it is difficult to distinguish between one and the other, we have prepared a summary table to make it easier for you to choose your epoxy resin. Check it out!
