Description

This material expands the range of printers in which this filament can be used, compared to 93A, since, thanks to its rigidity, in addition to being able to print on direct drive extrusion printers, it is also compatible with Bowden printers . SMARTFIL ® FLEX is especially suitable in the orthopedic and orthotic industry, as well as is used for anti-vibration dampers, among otros.

The Shore A and Shore D scales are used to measure the hardness of materials such as TPU and are related to their flexibility:

  • Shore A: Used for softer, more flexible materials, such as rubbers and elastic TPU.

    • Lower values (e.g., 85A) indicate that the material is softer and more flexible.
    • Higher values (e.g. 98A) mean that the material is harder and less flexible.

  • Shore D: Applied to harder and stiffer materials.

    • Lower values (e.g., 50D) indicate some stiffness but still some flexibility.
    • Higher values (e.g. 70D) reflect a very rigid and inflexible material.
